Rachel + Dana = REINAS.

REINAS means QUEENS in Spanish.

Leader, sovereign, absolute, unlimited, unrestricted, boundless, ultimate, total, unconditional, full, and great.

These are just a few words to describe the women that represent REINAS.

In 2018 Professional World Class Triathlete Rachel Joyce and Leadership Coach and triathlete Dana Platin created REINAS. REINAS brings together the transformative powers of sport and leadership to support individuals with the tools and training to lead themselves (and others) to greatness.

REINAS designs and facilitates a vast array of on-site, energetic, participatory, skills-building workshops, speaking engagements, athletic training for small groups, teams and organizations. Participants train alongside Ironman champion Rachel Joyce, challenging their swimming, cycling and running skills, and join REINAS leadership reflection sessions guiding them on how to play to their strengths, cultivate resilience and unleash their inner warrior.

Rachel Joyce is a 6x Ironman Champion and ITU Long Distance World Champion, Co-President PTO Rachel has captured a world title, six Ironman titles and stood on the podium three times at the Ironman World Championships, Hawaii. She took 2nd place 2 of those 3 times in Kona at the World Championships. Rachel is a passionate advocate for equality and increasing participation in sport by women. She sits on the USAT Women’s Triathlon Committee and is Co-President of the newly formed Professional Triathletes Organization.

Over the years we have been on separate but similar paths. We have had the privilege to work with, share, and learn from hundreds of girls and women. Be it in a tiny village in the Andes mountains, in a law firm, on the race course, in the workplace, on the podium, on the sidelines, or with community; we have found common practices on how successful women lead.

These women have inspired us to create a manifesto of ten characteristics for how successful women lead themselves and others. Our hope is to inspire you to recognize these same traits in yourself when you join us to explore your leadership journey.

We met through a mutual colleague who had begun to refer to us as “Ray-Na.” Since Dana had lived in South America for 17 years, she recognized that this combination of our names sounds like the Spanish word reina or queen. Pronounced RAY-NAS and spelled REINAS, this name represents what we stand for, what we believe in, the women we work with, and our mission.

OUR MISSION: Through leadership and sport, we provide individuals with the tools to empower themselves (and others) to greatness.

OUR MANTRA: Own It: your space, your race, your goals, your life.

OUR WAY: We promote a definition of leadership that goes beyond roles of authority and power; beyond status, podiums and titles. Leadership isn’t about learning theory.

Leadership is about choosing the courage zone over the comfort zone. It’s about playing to your strengths and it’s about helping others play to theirs. As leaders we have the confidence to stand firm in our beliefs and values; we are determined and persist to get the good work done. Leadership is built with self-responsibility, self-trust, self-acceptance, and self-authorship. You write your own story, your chapters, your ending. You own your space.

OUR RESULTS: When you work with the REINAS, you will lead with your braver, bolder, strongest self.
