Is Coaching Right for Me?

Your role in coaching is to create the coaching agenda based on your goals, to use assessment and observations to enhance your self-awareness, to envision personal and/or professional success, and to assume full responsibility for personal decisions and actions. You commit to taking courageous action in alignment with personal goals and aspirations, and utilizing the tools and models provided by Dana to take effective forward actions.

What Does the Coaching Process Look Like?

Coaching begins with a personal interview by phone or video conference to assess your current opportunities and challenges, define the scope of the relationship, identify priorities for action, and establish specific desired outcomes. Subsequent coaching sessions are conducted over the telephone, with each session lasting one hour. Between scheduled coaching sessions, you will be asked to complete specific actions that support the achievement of your personally prioritized goals. Dana may provide additional resources in the form of relevant articles, checklists, assessments or models to support the individual's or business’ thinking and actions. The duration of the coaching relationship varies depending on needs and preferences.

Dana incorporates a strengths-based approach, grounded in what’s already working, what's wanted, and what's needed to get there. Using this approach allows us to capitalize off of an individual’s strengths to achieve their goals. Dana works with the client to leverage personal strengths and overcome limitations to develop a winning style.

How Many Sessions Should I Do?

The length of a coaching partnership varies depending on you or your team's needs and preferences. For certain types of focused coaching, three to twelve sessions of working may be sufficient. For other types of coaching, you may find it beneficial to work with a coach over a longer period of time. Factors that may impact the length of time include: the types of goals, the frequency of coaching meetings, and financial resources available to support coaching.
